Historic and Neighborhood Investment Zone (HNIZ &NIZ)

The Historic Neighborhood Investment Zone is for residences and encourages the maintenance and rehabilitation of existing historic houses through city property tax abatements for up to 15 years. Here is the presentation of how many homes and how much in property tax abatements McKinney has provided since the program started in 2008.

The Neighborhood Investment Zone provides impact fee waivers for various new residential and commercial uses in the same geographic boundary above.
